When the decision was made to move to a new space, it was known that it was going to be a big undertaking. We had outgrown our old office, and needed more space to accommodate our growing projects. But we also wanted to make sure that the transition was as smooth as possible, and that we had time to perfect the space the way we intended it.

So, we decided to keep two lofts in the same building for the transition period. LUMA 1 & what we called LUMA 2. (Now just LUMA) This would give us plenty of room to work with, and allow us to complete any necessary renovations while still having space for content creation for our clients. They were both simultaneously open for 8 months before the transition was complete.

What was so new about this new loft?

1. THE LIGHT RAYS FROM HEAVEN

The old loft was notoriously well lit year round, and kept photographers in mind. Some things about the old loft that gave it its charm – the black wall & ceiling – also created a cozier lighting. With all the walls being completely white in the new loft and an extra window in the room, you can be sure that the natural light isn’t what you will be missing here.

2. THE LARGER SPACE

The old loft was notoriously well lit year round, and kept photographers in mind. Some things about the old loft that gave it its charm – the black wall & ceiling – also created a cozier lighting. With all the walls being completely white in the new loft and an extra window in the room, you can be sure that the natural light isn’t what you will be missing here.

We wanted the new space to be brighter and more open than our old office, so we knocked down a few walls and installed larger windows. We also added some new features, like a break room with a kitchenette, and a lounge area for informal meetings and brainstorming sessions.

3. THE KITCHEN

The newly installed all-white kitchen is subtly tucked away behind curtains, where there is also a makeup table with a large and brightly lit makeup mirror. This new kitchen has the addition of

• a coffee machine
• many plates & cutlery
• an oven
• a microwave
• a fridge and freezer
• a portable stovetop
• a tea kettle and every possible flavor of tea & hot chocolate you can think of
